Choose the format around your use
An audio-only copy makes sense for a recording you plan to listen to, such as your own talk or an authorized music performance. Video is more useful when the frame carries instructions, movement, or other details that the soundtrack cannot explain. Choosing the format before you download can avoid saving a large video when a smaller audio file would do.
The conversion page determines which options are available. It may not offer every format or resolution for every video, and source restrictions can prevent a result entirely. Select from the options shown rather than assuming that a particular quality is guaranteed.
One source, a deliberate choice
A direct link is helpful when you need the exact upload. With keyword search, take a moment to distinguish a full recording from a short clip or another version. After downloading a permitted file, check that its duration and playback match your expectations before renaming it.
MP3 and MP4 serve different purposes; neither automatically makes a poor source better. Compression and file size depend on the chosen option as well as the original recording. Keep enough free storage for the download, and use your browser’s download list to find the completed file.
